Do you have anything in your wardrobe that could stand similar treatment? I have a black empire waisted dress that I always thought I could lengthen in an interesting way. This post has given me an idea!!

Jane Austen Fashion Throwdown

Cassandra and Jane Austen liked fashion, but with their limited allowances the sisters had to make do, refurbishing old gowns and only occasionally splurging on new ones. Fashion magazines showed the new trends in London, although the styles tended to filter down to the provinces much later than where they started in London. Both sets of these Belle Assemblee dresses were made of lovely white muslin, so fashionable in its day. It is 1807. Which pair of day dresses would you choose for the sisters?
